Thankfully we have started to receive some much needed rain. The forecast shows we have more to come in the future. This is great news because I have never seen a Spring with such low water due to the dry Winter we had. When the water rises is one of my favorite times to be on the water. Big browns will move out of their hiding spots when water flow increases and go on the hunt. Robert found this out this week with a 24″ brown inhaling his streamer. Trout fishing has been good and will improve every week the water warms and rains fills the streams and rivers.
Soon the annual striped bass run will begin on the Staunton River. I would expect there are a few stripers all ready up to the spawning grounds and the numbers will increase after next week. Stay tuned to the blog or my social media, I will post some striper photos real soon!
