Just got back from a great trip to Colorado where guiding all started for me. Took some clients of mine out with me to fish some of the best rivers in the state. We hired my good friend Pat Dorsey, who gave me my first job as a guide many years ago. It was awesome to spend time on the water again with Pat and my great clients. Weather was great and the Fall color had started, a little extra color to a already beautiful landscape. Fishing was really good, Trent, John, and Cameron stuck a lot of good brown and rainbow trout during the three days guided by Pat. We fished the Williams Fork, Colorado, Spinney Mountain, and South Platte at Deckers. All of them produced good numbers of fish and size. Numerous 18 inch rainbows were caught but the highlight was this beautifully colored 22″ brown that Cameron caught on a size 22 nymph. I will likely do this same trip September 2017, once dates have been picked I will let folks know. Back to the local waters next week. A few more smallmouth bass trips on the books before it starts to get to cool. Trout and musky will be the prime targets this Fall and Winter. Believe it or not its time to start chasing down the toothy fish.
