It has been a busy week starting out with a trout trip then switching over to striped bass. The past few days my clients had hook into some hard pulling male stripers. Most fish have been 18 to 20 inches but some of the females finally made it up river to join the party. Benny’s first two fish of the day were 9 and 7.5 pounds. The striper run at Brookneal is still going strong and will continue to do so a couple more weeks. With May here I’m starting to run down to Weldon, Nc for the saltwater striper run on the Roanoke river as well. Weldon offers the best chance for high numbers of stripers caught on the fly rod.
