Just finished up the Winter muskie fishing and looking forward to focusing on fish that want to eat. The Fall/Winter season was a rough one. Crazy weather and more pressure on these fish than I have ever seen before. Its never easy to catch one but its definitely gotten harder. The past six guided trips out for musky on the fly clients hooked three fish but none landed. Ready for a break for sure, muskie will drive a man to drinking.
Trout fishing this Winter has been great and with warmer temps here and more on the way its going to get better. The brown trout have come out of their winter funk and are fattening up on anything they can find. We are in need of some rain and I hope to see some substantial rain this month.
The Striped bass will soon make their annual pilgrimage up the Staunton River to spawn. Mid April to the first part of May is primetime to get on the action. My April is booking up fast and I have few openings left for the King of Spring!
