If you haven’t fished the Special Regulation of the South River in Waynesboro, Virginia yet you need to. Fished there on Friday for the third time and poked around on a stretch I haven’t fished yet. It is fishing great, caught a ton of rainbows in the 8 to 14 inch range. Water is up and a little off color but they could see my red San Juan worm just fine. In a couple slower holes I found a few trout rising to midges that were hatching. The guys at South River Fly Shop had told me they have been catching some browns in the 18 inch range. I hooked one about that size but ran me under a down tree. If you go be sure to stop by the South River Fly Shop, they have the flies and the know how to get you on this great river.
