Fly Fishing For Smallmouth Bass

Smallmouth Bass inhabit many of Virginia’s rivers and are, pound-for-pound, one of hardest fighting freshwater fish to be caught on a fly rod. Smallmouth weigh between 1 and 5 pounds, on average, and can exceed 10 pounds. They’re naturally aggressive and eager to take a streamer or popper.

Smallmouth  fishing heats up early in the spring and remains excellent well into the fall.
