Just got done spending three days in a row with two of my favorite clients. Pete and Sandra started out with striped bass on Tuesday and then we jumped on the James for the rest of their stay. Fishing started out slow with the cold front that pushed through. We still put a good number of fish in the boat fishing in the rain most of the day Thursday. Air temps were near 90 on Tuesday and 59 on Thursday, all three of us like to froze that day. Yesterday the sun was back out and the morning was chilly but air temps jumped up to 70 that afternoon. We switched from streamers to poppers yesterday just to se if we could get some interest. Pete’s first fish of the day was a 18 inch smallmouth on the popper and the last fish he landed was a 20inch smallmouth. Congrats Pete on your biggest smallmouth to date! Hope everyone has a wonderful and safe Memorial day and be sure to thank a veteran for their service!
