Got on the water yesterday with Jack Murray from Blue Ridge Outdoors Magazine. Jack wrote a good article in the latest issue of the magazine about musky fishing on the fly. He wanted to get a musky on video for the magazine’s website so we headed out to try our luck. The morning started off slow without seeing a musky for the first 3 hours but I felt good about getting it done in the last mile of float. When we got in the last mile of the float the first musky that showed itself slammed the fly and my friend Erik that went with us on this float was hooked up with a 33 inch musky. Jack had a smaller fish miss his fly right after that. We did get 3 follows from some very large musky also. Jack is still searching for his first musky on the fly but we did accomplish what we came to do.
