Went back down to Weldon, NC last week to get my striped bass fix while the fish are here.  Fishing was incredible, the water was lower than my first trip down.  Usually we have to throw 450 grain sinking lines this time of year but with the water lower I did well with a 7 weight and 300 grain line.  The river is full of stripers, wherever you casted you likely would hook up.  Kevin and I had countless doubles and caught stripers until our thumbs could not handle lipping another.  Good problem to have right?  The river at Weldon is rising again due to the heavy rain we got Thursday.  So far the flows are safe for fishing and hope it stays that way because I wouldn’t mind catching a few more.photo 2 photo 3 photo 1
