//Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

Its been a heck of a ride this year, I believe the wettest year on record.  I was amazed I got out as much as I did.  I appreciate everyone that understood and put up with all the rescheduling and cancelations.  2018 wasn’t all bad, still had plenty of great days on the water and opportunity on water that normally is to low to fish in the Summer.  My hosted trips to Belize and Brazil were fantastic!

As we move into 2019 I can’t help but hope for better weather.  There are some changes for the new year.  I haven’t changed my guide rates in 5 years and this year I have decided to increase my rates.  A one person full day guided trip is staying at $400, but a 2 person trip is increasing to $450 a day.

I have offered trips to Roanoke Rapids, NC for a few years now for the striped bass run.  For 2019 I will stay in Roanoke Rapids from May 5th-18th running trips.  During this time I will be there running trips for striped bass only.  In my experience this is the best time frame to catch big numbers of striped bass on the fly rod.  Morning and evening are the best feeding times so my trips will run 3:00 pm-8:00 pm and 7:00 am-12:00 pm, skipping the slow mid day fishing.  The price for this trip is $600 (afternoon and morning combined). If this trip interests you, and you can only make it for a morning or evening, the price is $400. I already have some of these dates booked and I may stay longer than May 18th if the fishing is still going strong.  Pictured below are some fish from the Roanoke River near Roanoke Rapids, NC.
