Took the family and some friends to one of my favorite trout streams yesterday. Virginia trout streams are in great shape this year from the wet summer. Mountain streams are cold and full of water and hungry trout. First fish of the day was a big brookie my son hooked on his Spiderman fishing pole. The brook trout put the the Spiderman pole to the test. After that my son was ready to play in the creek, so dad and his friend did a little fishing. Between two of us we landed 16 trout in a hundred yard stretch. Most of them were native brook trout with a few nice wild brown trout mixed in.
