I fished the special reg. on Buffalo Creek in Rockbridge County on Monday. I haven’t fished this spring creek since the spring. With all of the rain we have had this summer I figured it would have plenty of cool water. A friend and I ran out there in the afternoon for a quick fix. I armed my self with a foam hopper and nymph dropper and started fishing the fast riffles. It didn’t take long to get a rainbow to munch my hopper. We hit a good part of the stream before a thunderstorm ran us off. We did really well between both us, the rainbows were healthy and colorful. Nymphs did best but I was able to fool a few on the hopper.
