Its good to be back at the office. You won’t find many folks that would say that but I truly love mine. I know I have one of the best jobs in the world and being on the water never gets old or teaching and sharing my knowledge with clients. It was a busy week, fresh back from the beach with my family and getting over food poison(thanks tuna!). No matter how good those fish tacos tasted they had a bad bite back. This week I had 5 smallmouth bass trips. Started out with 90 degree temps unusual for June so I’m getting use to the heat early this year. Fishing was good, most fish came on streamers fished along the banks and few on topwater flies. The last trip of the week I changed over to my ole faithful slider fly and the fish responded well. It looks the topwater bite has started on the James River and I have till the end of September to watch bass sip or crush the surface fly.
